CHRISTMAS IS ALWAYS THE TIME OF GOODWILL FOR ME

Christmas is indeed, the time of goodwill. The time to share. The time to extend a helping hand wholeheartedly. Christmas is also a time to renew bonds, celebrate blessings, and to create new beginnings.

I am sorry for the lack of posts. I've been going through my recent posts, and I've realized that my heart and passion for writing wasn't there. To be honest, I am not in the mood to write for the past month. Basically, I'm just writing for the sake of updating.

My grandmother is dying. Since the time she stopped speaking (which was caused by a stroke), everything else was downhill for her from that point. After a week since she stopped speaking, she stopped eating. The she developed a lot of bed sores. And she was hospitalized for almost a month. It cost us tons of money. And I feel bad because I can't do anything to help my mother with the bills. But I am glad that my uncle provided financial support for our ailing grandmother.

And after a week of staying in our house, she had to be brought back to the hospital again because her tube on her stomach is leaking (she's being tube- fed already). And we discovered that she already had a lot of internal infections and kidney failure. So she had to stay in the ICU for a week. For the past month, she has undergone two surgeries. But luckily, God gave her another chance at life. Her kidney has recovered and she's bound to be released before the new year. But her vital signs are still low. And it's continually degrading. Her doctors talked to us and told us to prepare for the worst.

I have been depressed. But what can I do? Death is a natural thing. But the pain that you have to go through is exhausting. I also find myself praying that God silently takes her while she's in her sleep. I can't even believe myself that I am actually praying for her eternal rest to come soon and quick! But I'd rather see her sleeping peacefully than see her cry all the time because of all the excruciating pain that she's experiencing. Oh, if my grandmother could only speak again, She'd be cursing everyone and anything for the pain that she's going through!

And all of a sudden I felt regret-- Regret for taking my grandmother for granted. But just a bit. True enough, you'll never know how much a person means to you unless he/she's gone. Or in our case: Dying.

I didn't even put up the Xmas tree. For five years in a row, it is one of my pledges to put up the Xmas tree and decorations around the house. I even start as early as October! That's how excited I am for every Christmas. But for this Xmas, the house was dull. I didn't feel like putting up any Xmas decorations. In fact, I didn't even feel Xmas amidst all the decorated buildings I pass by every time I travel. To be honest, I didn't know that yesterday was the 24th, if my hubby didn't tell me.

But then again, you have to believe that everything happens for a reason. The day my beloved Shih Tzu King died was on Xmas day. I commemorated it last night by feeding his fellow dogs a big can of wet dog food. And this Xmas of 2010, I almost lost my grandmother.

After darkness, light shines again. I vowed to take all the events in my life now peacefully. For this Xmas, I tried unloading all the pain I've went through 'cos of my Lola for the past two months. Whatever happens, I will embrace wholeheartedly. I believe that there is life after death, and a new beginning is bound to happen.

So I took out a lantern, put up some Christmas lights and decorated the door, and wrapped some gifts. It is never too late to welcome Christmas.

Anyway, I've been telling you at the start of this post that Xmas is the year of goodwill for me and my mom. Since we're talking about happy endings and new beginnings, I decided to continue our pledge to distribute "XMAS GOODIES BAGS" to impoverished people around the streets, even if mom wasn't with me last night to do the deed because she decided to celebrate Xmas with lola in the ICU.

Here are pics of our goodies bags. If you will check my Christmas '09 posts, I also have pics of our goodies bags for last xmas too.

Each bag contains a tetra pack juice drink, a sandwich, candies, cookies, cupcakes, and jelly ace candies.

And here is a wood tray chock- full of snacks for carolers and people asking for aguinaldos.

Another box full of marshmallow pieces for kid carolers.

My brother, a house helper, and I went around the streets of Makati and stopped by people scouring trash bins, sleeping on the streets, guards celebrating a lonely Xmas guarding a building, pedicab and tricycle drivers patiently and sadly waiting for a passenger to stop by and gave them a little piece of Christmas. Oh if you could only see the smile on their faces! That indeed made my Christmas merry and bright!

Cliche as it may sound, doing something like this makes you really feel how blessed you are. I may be undergoing a lot of pain, and we might be tight with cash due to Lola's unexpected illness right now, but I can't complain. We can still afford to pay for Lola's hospitalization, I can still afford to buy gifts for myself and for others, I had a pretty good noche buena, and I still sleep on a soft bed, and in an air- conditioned room. At least I am not in the streets like the people I've mentioned.

In any tough situation that I am in, I vow to always remind myself that I am still lucky. There are other people who have more problems than me.

This Christmas has been great after all.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE. :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR LADIES!+ HAPPY NEW YEAR OUTFIT AND FOTD

'Tis better late than never so happy new year guys!

I went home right after picking up some groceries with mom in S&R, The Fort, Taguig. I also cooked the food for our media noche. It's just a fun night with pica- pica foods. Sorry, didn't get to take pictures because my digital camera was misplaced last night. And know where I found it? Under my beagle's doggie bed. I don't know why it friggin' got there but at least the beagle didn't chew on it!

So here's a wrap up of what we had for our Media Noche. Take note, all are cooked by moi except for the Pansit:

**This is the blue dress I bought in SM. It's such a pretty dress! :) Thanks for Caby's post because I didn't know that the lucky color of the year is blue. Good thing blue is my fave color, so hello good luck! :)

*Nya. I lit a Kwitis and instead of it going up, it curved and went straight. Dayum, good thing it went straight to a wall and exploded against it. Lesson of the year, DO NOT BUY KWITIS ROCKETS ON THIN AND CURVED BAMBOO STICKS.

PAHABOL XMAS GIFTS

Hello darlings! Here's a post regarding my final xmas hauls before the clock says CHRISTMAS TIME!

I've been wanting to get myself a fabulous pair of heels so I went to People are People yesterday after my dentist visit. Btw, I have two impacted wisdom teeth on the lower jaw which needs surgery. :(( yikes, I've never thought that I will ever have a surgery unless I'm giving birth! Oh well, my surgery is due this March and, 3 more to go because I also have two impacted wisdom teeth on the upper jaw, which may need some x- ray because the dentist has to check if both are growing inward. YAY! :((

Oh well, on the lighter note, here are some hauls that made me forget about my wisdom teeth.

And here's my shoe haul for this week.

The brand is Black, which is from People are People. I've always liked the shoes in People are People. Fab, practical, sturdy and cheap. And if you're looking for shoes with killer heels, People are People is the place that you should go to.

Check the front. :) It's a gladiator- ish type of heels.

4- in. goodness! :) YAY! At last, i have a decent pair of black heels. :)

And went out today to do a bit of my final xmas shopping. Anthem paper bag contains brother's xmas gift, which is a dayum expensive but gorgeous anthem shirt; bench paper bag contains my exchange gift items; bayo contains my xmas top and the bench plastic bag contains my personal hauls from bench

Here's my gift for the exchange gift amongst my family and our relatives tomorrow. my theme for this xmas 2009 is bath and body so I got these from bench, except the rejoice shampoo. :)

Here's envi tee from bench. It claims that it's environment- friendly because it is made of 70% bamboo something and just 30% cotton. well, it feels comfortable and is a great undershirt or a laid back top for lazy strolls!

Here's a Xmas top courtesy of my mom. I'm gonna wear this to our Xmas lunch tomorrow with the relatives. Doncha love the vintage buttons? :)

Yeah, I'm in the dark blue phase right now, which is evident in my choice of colors for the two tops. teehee. :p

Here's a nice find from S&R supermarket, the fort, global city, Taguig City. They have this clothing section with tons of overrun brands such as mossimo, abercrombie and fitch, american eagle, ralph lauren, nautica, etc. I got this pair of mossimo low rise skinny jeans. The thing that I love about this is, it hugs my legs without being too skinny and tight, which is the reason why I hate wearing jeans sometimes. It hugs my legs without feeling too uncomfortable so I'm quite happy with my jeans find.

And here are some vanity hauls: Sensodyne soft bristles toothbrush, a pack of dental floss and l'oreal elseve royal jelly shampoo (not in the picture)

And these bags contain 24 packs with each of the ff: jollibee palabok or spaghetti, one packed mamon and zesto. It's my mom and I's pact to always share our Noche Buena with the poor and unfortunate so we'll go out at around 11 P.M. to distribute these small packages around Buendia and Palanan.

MERRY XMAS EVERYONE! I HOPE YOU'LL ALL HAVE A GOOD ONE! :)

XMAS GIFTS FOR MOI+AN EXCITING FIND!

Ruins time and BF Homes time for me. I visited my friend and her baby in BF Homes and accompanied hubby to his xmas shopping. Here's a run- down of my hauls for the day. :)

Ruins time for me and hubby. Ruins is the ultimate tiangge place in BF Homes and is the place for rare and high- quality fake dvds. I would always go there to get rare dvds.

Here's my exciting find. I've been lemming for a black maxi dress in any style. I saw this lovely halter dress with a heart bustier cut in Mphosis. I was leaning towards getting it. I passed by it last Sunday and to my surprise, that VERY simple dress is priced at a whopping 2930php. I was kinda' disappointed because the quality is comparable to the ones sold in the tiangges so I can't understand why it was priced exorbitantly. I walked out of the store with a heavy heart and told myself that Mphosis' items are too overpriced!

And I was trying my luck in Ruins. So as to not disappoint myself, I opened myself to the fact that there is only a slim chance of finding a black maxi dress in Ruins since it's Xmas time and people will most likely splurge on clothing for their parties and shiznits.

Then when I passed by this store, this single long dress hanged at the obscure part of the store. Like it was destined to be there and I was destined to see it among the nice printed ones. It's priced at 480php and the kind saleslady gave it to me for 450php only!

Yay! I am sooo happy, a lemming is finally accomplished. I was all smiles when hubby and I met in Pergola to do some grocery and he asked me why. And I told him my story on the search for the black maxi dress. :)

I got myself these rare and good movies: 400 blows and The Bicycle Thief. I'm such a sucker for classic and rare films with simple plots that highlights the acting more than the story.

And this gift was given to me by my hubby's cute and sweet sister, Joan.

It's Strawberry Pamper Pouch which consists of the ff: Body Polish, Body Butter Shower Gel and Loofah. Perfect! Since I have a play due this February, these shower buddies will really come in handy. And the weave pouch is cute too! :)

And here's the surprise xmas present that hubby's been telling me when he got home from his US Trip. He told me that he already bought me a xmas present there.
I was kinda' thinking that it is indeed, a make- up item but he kept on telling me "SECRET" whenever I'll ask for clues.

He gave me once the first letter of the surprise xmas present. He said that it starts with the letter A. I thought that he bought me an Affliction shirt in the states, which is a nice surprise too. All this time, I was thinking that I'll be getting a bad- ass shirt from Affliction.
But to my surprise, IT IS MORE THAN A BAD- ASS TEE.

IT'S A KICK- ASS GIFT!

My dream has finally come true. GUERLAIN ROUGE D GUERLAIN LIPSTICK.

WHEW! My Xmas is sooo happy! :)
