London, the end

When it comes to romance movies Notting Hill is one of my all time favorites. So whilst in the Notting Hill neighborhood in London, I just had to stop by that infamous travel bookshop. It's a really lovely shop; I could spend hours there! Unfortunately the Books for Cooks shop on the opposite side of the street was closed.

London, part VIII

My stroll along South Bank ended at the amazing Borough Market. There is nothing like it in Bergen, except from Kjøttbasaren, which is kind of a tiny similar market, but then again not the same. I must say, Borough Market blew me away. I loved it! Such an inviting and photogenic place for a food and photography lover like me. It instantly made me want to cook all kinds of delicious meals. I wish Sølve was there with me; I know he would have loved it too. The next time we are in London, we have to go to Borough market and then we need a kitchen. ASAP! ;-)

London, part VII

After the slow morning at Charlotte's place, I headed out to explore South Bank - on Charlotte's recommendation. I caught some beautiful light on film inside National Theatre, after a yummy Matador pie at Pieminister at Gabriel's Wharf, I saw a man making an elephant in the sand. Outside Tate Modern I admired the birch trees and inside I enjoyed the photo exhibition Exposed: Voyeurism, Surveillance and the Camera. Good times!

London, part VI

Charlotte and I had a slow morning after our night out. We hung out in her kitchen; talking, drinking tea and eating toast with jam. To me that is so British! Charlotte and her boyfriend have a really beautiful home - I could move right in! Thank you so much again, C, for letting me stay at your place.

London, part V

Drinks at Princess Louise was followed by dinner. Afterwards we went on to Great Queen Street, which is conveniently located in Great Queen Street, no confusion here (quote Mathias). I remember I had fish and that is was really good, other than that I just remember the great atmosphere and the lovely company of Charlotte, Brian and Mathias. I also learnt that Fuji Velvia 50 film needs more light than this restaurant can provide in the evening.

London, part IV

No visit to London is complete before you have been to a pub, right? Brian of the blue hour and Charlotte of spink took Mathias and me to Princess Louise in Holborn. A pretty nice place, if you ask me. After a pint (white wine for me since I don't like beer) it was dinner time.

London, part III

After coffee, gelato and photo walking, Famapa and little Oomoo (such a cute nickname!) had to go home and Mathias and I continued our photo walk through Soho and Covent Garden. At Urban Outfitters I picked up an alphabet bag (I chose M for Mykletun) and Polaroid Notes with polaroid photos by several of my Flickr friends, including a cupcake polaroid by Mathias. Then we headed to a pub in Holborn.
