PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: THE BODY SHOP OLIVE DRY OIL MIST

Here's an initial review on THE BODY SHOP OLIVE OIL DRY MIST

PRICE:ORIGINALLY 795PHP, THEN GOT IT ON A P100 OFF SALE (695PHP)
PLACE BOUGHT: THE BODY SHOP, POWERPLANT MALL, ROCKWELL, MAKATI CITY
OTHER LOCATIONS: THE BODY SHOP STORES IN MALLS NATIONWIDE

THE VERDICT:

Say goodbye to thick and gunky lotions because oil is definitely a must- have this summer.

Personally, I prefer the latter than the former. Especially now that the Dry Oil Mist has been invented for a less greasy feel.

TBS's Dry Olive Oil Mist is one must- have for beach babes this summer. This dry olive oil mist comes in a handy spritzer bottle so you can just spray, spread and go. Plus, you can tote this around anywhere without worrying that it might spill in your bag.

I love the scent. It comes off a bit strong at first, but the scent dies down a bit, then it lingers; But not so much that it's already clashing with the perfume that you are currently wearing.

And for tanned chicks out there, I highly recommend using oils for moisturizing because it keeps your skin glowing and looking luxuriously sexy. Dry oil mists leave your skin with a bit of sheen, without the greasiness and slick.

Apart from the sun proof lipbalms, waterproof lip and cheek tints, and tinted moisturizers, make sure that you keep your skin looking healthy and pretty as well under the sun.

PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: THE BODY SHOP CASSIUS ROSE EDT

Here's an initial review on THE BODY SHOP CASSIUS ROSE EDT 30ML

PRICE: 238.50PHP (SALE FROM THE ORIGINAL PRICE OF P795)

PLACE BOUGHT: THE BODY SHOP BOUTIQUE, POWERPLANT MALL, ROCKWELL, MAKATI CITY

OTHER LOCATIONS: BODY SHOP OUTLETS

THE VERDICT:

So I've mentioned in a previous entry that Cassius Rose is one of the best smelling rose- scented perfumes that I've ever tried. But unluckily, I decided not to make it one of my go-to and must- buy scents 'cos the price is too costly for a very small bottle. I actually made my first bottle of this last for 4 months. After emptying two bottles, I settled for Bath and Body Work's Velvet Tuberose.

And to my surprise, I saw this baby on a crazy 70% off sale!

Weee! At last, I get to spritz on this lovely rose scent once again!

Lemme tell you why I love this so much. Cassius Rose, by far, is the most romantic rose- scented perfume that I've ever smelt. L'Occitane's smells like a plain, clean rose scent. While The Body Shop's Moroccan Rose smells a bit seductive, and BBW Velvet Tuberose, well, is a hybrid. Doesn't smell totally rose-y, but can pass off as one due to the rose base note.

I'm a hopeless romantic, and forgive my shallowness for saying that this perfume complements my personality. :D

However, the scent doesn't last that long. Around 2 hours, the most. This is EDT so a huge amount of it consists of water, so there goes the explanation as to why this scent doesn''t last that long.

Whenever I'm feeling overly girly or womanly, or romantic, I'm sure to pick this up from my perfume collection.

The sad part is, I think that TBS is slowly phasing this out because there were only a few bottles left. So if you're curious about this scent, a plain anything- rose- scented lover, or a Cassius Rose junkie, be sure to grab one (or all) now before it's gone.

PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: THE BODY SHOP SPA WISDOM MONOI BODY OIL

THE VERDICT:

Lately, I've been a fan of the SPA- AT- HOME Services because the house beside us is actually a spa headquarters. Yes, they do spa-at-home services. I love the fact that I don't have to go out of the house anymore to go to a spa. It's enjoying ze massage right in the comfort of my home. :)

I was supposed to post this 2 months ago but it has fallen to obscurity due to my accumulated stuff that I've prioritized first in terms of blog posting. I'm so sorry body oil, you've been left behind.

But this item is still worth reviewing.

The Body Shop's SPA WISDOM line boasts of different scents that are sure to make your spa and massage session more enjoyable by providing relaxing scents with soothing and healing properties. They have scent ranges named after countries associated with Spas and massages (Polynesia, etc.)

What's the use of a massage without a body oil? So I decided to get this one. It was on a 10% sale during THE BODY SHOP SALE.

So I got this Monoi Body Oil from the Polynesia line. I'm a sucker for jasmine scents so I got this one. It is overall, a Jasmine- scented oil laden with coconut. The floral scent of Jasmine and the sweet scent of Coconut created this tropical scent that doesn't go overboard.

This oil glides on smoothly. It is absorbed easily while leaving a film of oil to nourish your skin further. However, some may find this greasy because massage oils are made to have some grease because it lubricates the whole body, making the hands of the masseuse/masseur glide effortlessly (I hope I sounded wholesome here hahaha).

Overall, I like the scent and it really uplifts my senses. However, I might not plan to repurchase since it's kinda' expensive. But who knows? I just might. :)

PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: THE BODY SHOP MATTE IT FACE AND LIP PRIMER

Here's an initial review on THE BODY SHOP MATTE IT FACE AND LIP PRIMER

PRICE: 397PHP (695PHP BEFORE)
PLACE BOUGHT: THE BODY SHOP, ROBINSON'S PLACE, ERMITA, MANILA
OTHER LOCATIONS: THE BODY SHOP STORES NATIONWIDE

I'm almost nearing the bottom of the jar of my Kryolan Invisible matt primer. I have no intentions of buying a primer since I have to save money for some down payments that I have to pay by November. Good thing I passed by The Body Shop's Up to 70% off Sale in Robinson's place Manila. This is the only thing that's worth my visit to the store. This is at 50% off and not bad for 397php.

This is a silicone- based primer. Think Smashbox Photofinish. The reason why I don't like silicone- based primers is because they feel weird on the skin. It's either they feel too greasy or too matte. Plus, my face feels cakey when I put this on. But the feeling goes away when it settles on your skin.

Since this is a mattifying primer, I was expecting that this will keep my oilies at bay for hours. Plus, it makes my face more smooth in a weird kinda' way so my foundation glides on effortlessly.

Lo and behold, here's my face after 6 hours. You can see that my face is slightly dewy. Honestly speaking, that's oil seeping out. But to my amazement, my face turned dewy instead of oily so this goes to show that it did keep my oilies at bay! So maybe that's the reason why Photofinish Primer is such a hit. Silicone- based primers are effective because it creates a film between your face and make- up. But still, I find Smashbox too overpriced so there's no way I'm buying it. And this is indeed the cheaper alternative for the Photofinish Primer!

Surprisingly, the effect of this primer is at par with my Kryolan's oil- controlling power at a fraction of the cost!

Will I buy this again? Of course I will. But only if it's on a sale. I got this at 50% off and I must say that it's really a good deal. What prohibits me from buying this even though it's effective, is how overpriced it is for a small tube. I'm planning to get a back- up, but I'm still thinking about it. I'm pretty sure this will last me long because I can alternate this with my Kryolan Primer. But when TBS goes on a sale again, I'm willing to buy another tube!
