Åmot Operafarm is launched

Do you remember my posts about Åmot Gard in December? The amazing hosts of this very special farm, Steinar, Yngve and Frida the dog (above), hired me as the copywriter for their new website. Yesterday was the launch of their new brand - Åmot Operafarm - their new design concept and the website. The launch was done with great style; sommalier Arne Egge chose the wines, chef Christel Eide made the nibblies and people were super happy.

Hisdal + Holcroft are the designers, Dagrun Reiakvam has taken most of the photos on the website, Kyber Kommunikasjon has built the website, and I have written the texts (they are not yet available in English, the translator is working on it). I will give you a heads up when the site is available in English. Until then you should browse through the site and be inspired. In fact, just a few of weeks ago CNN recommended Åmot Operafarm as one of the world's top destinations for 2011. Needless to say, this has been a very inspiring project to work on.

The end of my Åmot Gard photos, for now at least. I hope I will get the opportunity to go back and take more photos one day. It's an amazing place!

Also, I'm not super happy about this film that I used. This is what I wrote on Flickr about it:

I tried a new film; Fuji Superia 1600. I thought the high speed would make it great for this time of year. I expected grain, but I think it’s too much. I will rather stick to Fuji Superia X-tra 800. I was rather happy with the shots taken indoor in rather low light. Still I think the 800 is better.

I think I have mentioned before that my job as a freelance journalist and copywriter can be very varied. One day I interview local politicians about the future of Bergen, the next day I interview young professionals about their jobs, and the third day I travel to Vinho Verde in Portugal or Parma in Italy to write travel and food stories. (The fourth day I wonder were my next job will come from...)

This time I got in my car and drove ca 3,5 hours north of Bergen to the so called opera farm Åmot Gard in Bygstad. Steinar and Yngve have hired me as their copywriter for their new website and I visited them at the farm this past weekend to do research. Until the website (designed by Hisdal + Holcroft) is launched I won't tell you much more, but I will show you a few photos.
