Gates of Vienna News Feed 2/1/2011

Gates of Vienna News Feed 2/1/2011Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has not actually resigned from office, but when he addressed his countrymen today, he told them that he would not run for re-election in September. That was not enough for the protesters (or Mohammed El Baradei), who demand his immediate resignation. In the meantime, air travel, railways, the internet, and most businesses are shut down in Egypt.

In other news, “Jihad Jane”, the Pennsylvania woman who was charged with conspiring with other Islamic zealots to kill Lars Vilks, has officially changed her plea to “guilty”.
