The terrorist organization pulled out because the government has allowed a UN-sponsored tribunal to investigate the assassination of Rafik al-Hariri. The probe is expected to implicate elements of Hezbollah in Hariri’s death.

In other news, a Pakistani Taliban suicide bomber killed 18 people and destroyed a police station and a mosque near the border with Afghanistan. Meanwhile, Vice President Joe Biden, who is visiting Pakistan, says that the United States is not the enemy of Islam.
