A catamaran (from Tamil kattumaram[1]) is a type of multihulled boat or ship consisting of two hulls, or vakas, joined by some structure, the most basic being a frame, formed of akas. Catamarans can be sail- or engine-powered.
This one is obviously engine-powered. It has an aluminium hull, is called "
Tranen", and belongs to the company "Tide-Sjø". It is in passenger traffic between Bergen and the southern parts of the county of Hordaland.
